Tweaks

We just pushed a slightly updated version of the game. Here is the change-log

– BUG: Fixed the secret bricks (removed shadow, now invisible on minimap, backgrounds are now visible)
– BUG: A known secret is now reset once you place another brick on that tile.
– BUG: Portal no longer breaks when setting background behind them
– BUG: Revealed Secret bricks no longer hides when putting a background behind them
– BUG: You can now again easily move into a single brick wide hole above you.
– BUG: Level plays are now reported correctly when initially joining a world.

– FEATURE: Secret bricks are now shown as other users see them, until you discover them by running into them. When in god mode, all secret bricks are revealed.

– TWEAK: The old hardcoded legacy colors are now used on the minimap again. Only new bricks have their color auto generated.
– TWEAK: The new basic physcis has been tweaked to be more alike the old.
– TWEAK: The gravity dot is now slightly smaller visually.
– TWEAK: Everybody knows that Peter has the username sbeam, thus he will now be marked with orange in the user list.
– TWEAK: The minimap now renders above the more brick popup.
– TWEAK: Grid align is now 3x slower and you have to be closer to the grid for it to kick in!
– TWEAK: The game now has a new home screen

  5. I was going to post a rant earlier this morning. I guess that isn’t necessary anymore. Thanks Chris alot for fixing all the coloring. Best update ever.

    The grid thing is still annoying because you still fall off a block if you’re on the very edge. If you can’t fix this, can you give us the option to disable it? That way the noobs can jump up 1 block holes, and the pros can do precision jumping.

  13. Big thx for the fixes! and thx for given back the colors for the keys and crown for the minimap! (and for the decorations minimap-color!.. now we talking^^) BUT that the coins are transparent on the minimap now, causes some problems for a clean mapview…

    another problem for me is that every block with a background on it is shown black on the Profile-minimap-preview look at my profile (mfgpilz) to see what i meen -> http://everybodyedits.com/profiles/?/mfgpilz <- look at the first world "EGGMAN MANIC CIRCUS" his belly for example should be fully red but its broken black… this happens only on the profile page… the ingame map is all right like it should be..

    I’ve got a problem with my account: In the classic tab I don’t have the New Year smiley, but i haven’t bought it yet. Can you please fix this ? And I have found another bug: On the profiles do the new background bricks and the summer package not get showed. Please fix this cause I like a complete profile.

  26. Good, but the update still doesn’t quite fit. for example, you jump WAY too high(like 10 pixels?)

    and I still don’t like grid align at all.

    If you are in a dot and hold up, you still fall through.

    Also when on a block with a dot 5 spaces above it, and you jump, and don’t press anything else, you just fall back again, rather than staying in it like it used to.

    And you can still not stay in two up arrows in midair, you fall through after a bit.

    this probably all is the same problem: the gravity is too weak!
    if you can, try to get the gravity as close to the old one as possible.

    1) The appearance of the secret bricks supposed to be different in the ‘more brick popup’:

    the black brick should be at the right side cause thats the invisable one that you run into it. Thats also how we see it in other worlds.

    The invisable brick should be at the left side cause thats the one that turns visable when touched, and we see it invisable in other worlds until touched.

    I hope I’m right cause that was confusing…

    2) Another thing – you said that backgroung is now visable but I do’nt see it in the minimap…

    3) You should put erasing brick in TWO places: one in the background category (that erases only background bricks) and another one in the action category (in GRAVITY, that erases only bricks, decorations and others)

  39. You should add a chat command for saved worlds that says:
    “/fill” and it will fill the world with the currently selected block. But that would only be for convenience…

  42. The postman smiley link didn’t came with the lastest newsletter, so new users can’t get it. Can you fix this? I have it already, but we shall think about new users too.

    By the way, fix this ANNOYING bug (at least to me): If you put a background block over a normal block, it doesn’t show up on your profile. My ice cave level looks like rap with this.

  45. I dunno if this is a bug, but it is a serious problem for me:
    Twice today I got a magic coin that fully recharges energy. I got off my level so I could use the energy, but according to the shop, the magic coins DIDN’T WORK.
    In case anyone needs to know, I seemingly got a +2 energy then a +10.
    Please help!

  46. Well .. Cris this last update was awesome…. I was wondering .. You could create some decorative blocks such as . walls .. for our smileys to be behind then .. That could be .. like ancient greek columns .. you know .. that would be very cool .. dont you think ??
